…anti-spider mites chemical? According to a report, Borneo is “a new acaricide based on the active ingredient etoxazole.”
Recently, Borneo — the substance, not the island — was granted a “SOLA” for use in protected ornamental plants.
I’m not sure what SOLA is. I guess it stands for “Substances of Low Activity Exemption Order”, which I don’t really know what it means.
My guess is that the Borneo substance can be used with minimum precaution by persons involve in horticulture activities. Correct me if I’m wrong.
According to Farming UK website, the Borneo acaricide contains “110g/l etoxazole” and formulated as a suspension concentrate.
“It should be applied at a dose rate of 35 mls per 100 litres of water in a minimum water volume of 500 litres per hectare,” Dr. David Stormonth, Technical Manager for Interfarm (UK) said. [Source]
